10 Tips on How to Make School Life Easier* |2015

15:22

I know how stressful & unpleasant school life can be so I thought i'd come up with a few tips on how to make it that extra bit better for you! Just a couple things I wish i'd known and listened to when i was at school (a whole 4 years ago, i feel so old)

Prepare
Preparing the night before was and still is something i can never seem to master. I always believed I would have plenty of time in the morning to sort myself out, but after equally sharing your love to all 4 cats in the house (crazy cat lady)you soon realise how little time you have & end up in a fluster trying to get everything sorted in time. Therefore just simple things like packing your bag, laying your clothes out or making a final decision on what hair style you'll wear the next morning, it will make the rest of your day much less stressful.

Sleep
I know you want to finish that extra episode on Netflix but it won't disappear over night. Statistically an average person should get around 7-8 hours sleep a night, if it was my statistics i'd opt for 11 hours but 8 will do i guess. Getting plenty of sleep will prevent fatigue & increase brain activity meaning you'll be able to concentrate more and take more information in. Plus you won't be as tired to watch that episode on Netflix you missed out on!

Equipment
Personally having new stationery or a new school bag always made me enjoy school a bit more. Especially the satisfaction of writing on that new first page of a notebook, you know when you'd always start off as neat as possible then by the end of the term your writing would end up looking like hieroglyphics. I made a post on a stationery haul i brought recently here

Just Ask
Don't be afraid to ask for help! This was always a big problem of mine being the quietest in the class but it will considerably help. Maybe you don't want to because you don't want to draw attention to yourself, or seem stupid, but 90% of the time other people will be wanting to know the answer to your question too. As for everyone else, screw them at least you're showing interest!

Note Taking
Anything & everything literally. You never know when something might come in handy later on for coursework or homework. Take a little notebook along with you to class (can see some cute notebooks i found in my Stationery Haul post) and note take to your desire, it will considerably knock time off of your homework too.. Bonus!

Spare Time?
If you ever have spare time/ free periods at school don't always take them for granted by nipping to the local shop, make the most out of that time to catch up on coursework or homework you keep putting off. You're already at school might as well get it out of the way now so you don't have to worry about it during your free time at home.

Planning
Organisation is key in my eyes, I love making lists and planning ahead.. not that I always stick to it. *slaps hand* The easiest way of doing this is keeping a separate calendar or planner to write down future deadlines for homework etc. Having the satisfaction of crossing off plans to be completed is always a great feeling, and gives you time to breathe for a while knowing you're up to date!

Kindness
Simple as that. Being kind and friendly will instantly make your school day so much better, your confidence will grow which will allow your education to grow too. Being kind in general will get you much further in life as a whole, it will be easier for you to make friends, get a job, fulfil your life. Treat others how you would want to be treated.

Be Wary
By this i mean don't trust everyone, following on from before being kind is great but not everyone will be kind back. Throughout your school years you'll make new friends and unfortunately lose old ones it's life i'm afraid, however with all friends you need to be prepared. Don't be afraid to branch out into different groups just because your 'group' doesn't like a certain someone, that's their dilemma not yours. It's your decision after all.

Confidence
This is one of the main things I wish I had listened to when I was at school, you're too young to not live your life to the fullest. Expressing confidence in a positive way will spread through everyone, you'll feel happier in yourself and believe in yourself much more. Once you start doing that everything will start to fit into place easier. However remember there is a line between being confident and being cocky. No one likes the latter.
