Firstly let me apologise for the lack of posts over the past few months I had a lot going on with work, applying for college, finding voluntary work to get into college (such a hassle) and the wonderful Glastonbury festival in June.
But i'm slowly getting back on track... slowly.
This month i'm sharing with you my favourite TV Series/Programme I have discovered in July called, Ru Paul's Drag Race. A close friend recommended it to me a couple months ago, but I just brushed it off... how foolish i was. I've never known a programme to be so fab, sassy and bitchy all at once, especially when they're all men!
The main concept of the show is to find 'the worlds next drag superstar' by having top drag queens compete against each other in challenges set up by the host Ru Paul (who is my new favourite celeb) The way these (lets say women because frankly half the time i can't tell the difference) perform is incredible, they fight till the end for this crown and cash prize.
I'm a big supporter for gay rights, and i feel that this programme really allows you to see the vulnerability and passion for their society; which unfortunately seems to just get brushed away and not paid attention to. I have enormous respect for them and everyone else trying to get through life doing what they love. Their talent for transforming themselves is over whelming as well just google it and see for yourself, just do it trust me it will make you question life in general haha
I'm so addicted to this show i've managed to get through 5 seasons in 3 1/2 weeks, that's a lot of hours. I recommend it to everyone it's so light hearted and enjoyable, even my boyfriend secretly enjoys it.
COVER GIRL PUT THE BASS IN YOUR WALK, HEAD TO TOE, LET YOUR WHOLE BODY TALK.
AND WHAT.

Let me know what your favourite Netflix programme is i'd love something new to watch after this!
Enjoy

I've found that having something to look forward too, is always a great way of keeping yourself happy & positive.
Therefore I always make sure I'm doing something special/different atleast every other month and planning ahead is great fun. I'm a bit of a crazy organisation freak, and love writing lists & making notes, so when it comes to planning i'm all over it like a rash. This summer is no exception as I already have a couple things planned, no official set dates for all them yet however (which drives me slightly insane).
First on my list is:
George's birthday surprise getaway.
I've booked for me and George to go away for a couple nights to celebrate his birthday in May, fingers crossed the weathers on my side! I'd love to tell you where it is but G reads my posts so I can't give anything away. (But i'll be sure to post about it after)
When it comes to spoiling people I go all out. I love seeing their reactions, and letting them know how special they are to me. However, I hate them returning the favour as i'd literally be happy with the smallest sentimental thing, just knowing that person thought about me is enough.
GLASTONBURY!
This will be my first proper festival experience and to say i'm excited is an understatement. We have a bit of an army going (45 people to be exact) which i think is brilliant as you'd never lose someone. We're making it into a week long event, how i'm going to survive without showering for a week is beyond me but atleast i won't be the only one. PLUS the line up this year is immense!

Holiday to Malta?
One of my good friends Laura & myself are currently in the midst of planning a summer holiday to Malta for a week. Her Grandparents live out there so we'd only have to pay for flights, what a bargain that will be! The only reason we haven't booked anything yet thought is because of our work situation & finding time off together. Other than that, hello sun, sea and sand! I need a tan.
Reunited with the best ones.
Two of my favourite people in the world will be back home in August! One of them is braving working a season out in Malia whilst the other is slaving away at Uni. However once August arrives we will be reunited as a trio again! Love them to bits.
21?!?!?!
Christ. I'm turning 21 in August too, i feel so old. Like i said before i hate a big fuss so i'm begging everyone not to do a lot for me. But 21..... super scary yet exciting. Maybe i should grow up a bit now? Nah.
That's it for now! But I will definitely have to add to this list i love summer.
Get Planning!!!

omg.
ok.
I came up with an idea to do an Easter food themed post because, Easter's approaching and well i like food basically. So i searched around and this picture popped up of a chocolate bird nest cake, and it looked deeeeelish, i had to try it! Now i'm going to be honest here and tell you that i'm a poor excuse for a woman as i can't cook to save my life, for example, I manage to burn pasta... (yes i just admitted that) SO obviously I needed some help, and luckily George is an awesome cook so he helped. Well he had no choice in the matter really.
(who wears the trousers in the relationship...)
So we popped off to the supermarket to pick up the ingredients
Caution: People on diets look away now (im sorry)
We have:
2 packets of Wright's Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix (to make 2 separate cakes)
Vegetable oil (4tbsp per cake packet)
150ml Double Cream
Betty Crocker Buttercream Style Icing
Mini eggs
4 Flakes
We cheated a little bit and brought ready made cake mix but obviously you can make your cake which ever way you prefer. The packet mix was highly recommended to us though so we thought we'd give it a try, plus it meant buying less ingredients haha.
**Therefore the cake baking part was pretty simple so then came the cream filling, which again was surprisingly simple. All we did was just whisk the double cream till it thickened and smoothed it over the top of one of the cakes before then putting the other cake on top. From here we cut a circle in the middle of the top cake about an inch deep, then covered the entire thing in icing including the hole.
Now's the fun part, break up the flake into little pieces and basically throw it onto the cake (you don't want it neat as it's supposed to resemble a nest). Finally fill the hole with as mini easter eggs as you desire, and decorate however you like.**
(How are cute are those chicks though i got them from Sainburys)
I was a bit apprehensive about tasting it but it tastes oh so good SO MUCH CHOCOLATEY GOODNESS.
Now Enjoy!

I've always been an avid lover of dry shampoos; admittedly mainly because i'm lazy and find washing my hair a chore, and this is the easy option haha (I can't be the only one surely) but also more so this year as festival season is coming up, and i'm in the process of trying to train my hair to not get as greasy as quick.
Over the past few years i've tried numerous brands like the ever so popular Batiste, Garnier, Timotei.. however i always find myself coming back to Dove.
Although it is a tad more expensive than your classic Batiste it works wonders, and manages to last a lot longer than other brands too so really you don't feel so guilty spending £4.20ish on a dry shampoo. Plus Dove is such a well known brand you know you're getting a good quality product that's going to work well. You know what they say, the more you spend the better quality the product is.
It states on the packaging that it 'instantly refreshes and absorbs oil, leaving your hair beautiful, healthy and full of body' and i couldn't agree more. In the past i've usually found that when using other brands whilst my hair has been freed of oil it just feels clogged with product, with Batiste in particular it leaves my hair a dull colour & matte. However with Dove my hair feels light and freshly washed plus the smell is divine!
I'm useless at describing scents but i would say it smells clean & crisp with a slight hint of talcum powder, and i'm finding myself catching a wiff of it throughout the day, so who needs perfume when you have a head full of hair doing all the work for you!
This is definitely a holy grail hair product of mine and I must admit when it's on offer i stock up majorly, i mean i have 5 cans stored away am i obsessed? yes.
Give it a try, it's sold in most supermarkets & boots.

Spring is approaching so i've decided to start pulling out the dresses & basically make myself look a little bit more girly. I can't remember the last time I wore a dress tbh.. even my boyfriend was in shock when he saw me wearing one, so clearly that's saying something!
I'm not always a fan of wearing dresses & skirts as I find because i'm so short my legs just look dumpy; plus my legs resemble milk bottles most of the time and that's never a good look. However i'm beginning to step out of my comfort zone and I actually really loved wearing this outfit.
*I wore this on my travel up to London from my previous post.*
Dress: Matalan
Coat: Primark
Scarf: Urban Outfitters
Boots: New Look
Tights: Primark
Socks: Primark
Bag: New Look

Eeeeek! Valentines is almost here and i've always found this is one of the perfect opportunities to dress up and not care whether you're over doing it or not. I've never had a valentine other than this year (who needs a man really) however this year is an exciting first for me! But instead of the classic romantic meal out me and George have decided to keep it simple with a movie night & junk food just the way we like it. :)
But i'm fully aware not everyone will be doing so, therefore I raided my wardrobe and put together what would have been my go to outfits whether I was going out for a posh meal, or even if I was hitting the town with my girlfriends.

But i'm fully aware not everyone will be doing so, therefore I raided my wardrobe and put together what would have been my go to outfits whether I was going out for a posh meal, or even if I was hitting the town with my girlfriends.

Black & white two layered feather print playsuit with open back;
Motel Rocks- £45
Wore this on New Years & i'm in love with it, need to find an excuse to wear it again!
I know Motel Rocks can be a little on the pricier side but in my opinion it's definitely worth it, especially when you know you'll get a lot of wear out an item. PLUS you do get a £10 voucher when you sign up to their newsletter & they always have offers going on!
--------
Now if you're like me & are not always a fan of showing your legs off (either wear tights) OR do what I do and wear some funky trousers or a full length skirt
For example:

Black crop top- Missguided
Floral Maxi skirt with zip & slit detail- Miss Selfridge

Black crop top- Missguided
Patterned trousers- Missguided
haha i ran out of ways to pose at the end.
Black crop top- Missguided
Printed trousers- Missguided
Those trousers are only £8 at the moment what a bargain!!!!
So there we have it, me awkwardly attempting to look cool in my bedroom... Hope these ideas inspired you in some way. Maybe not for valentines but even for a date night or a night in town, whatever you're doing have a wonderful time and if you're lucky enough to have a valentine I hope you get spoilt rotten!

Why don't I look like that?
How can he/she be so happy all the time?
How does he/she make everything look so easy?
Why me?
But i've decided to change all that starting from today. It's a poisonous thing to have in your mind constantly and you can easily fall into a hole of negativity and it's hard to climb back out of that hole.
This sudden urge to become more confident and positive with my life only became apparent yesterday after watching one of my favourite Youtuber's Melanie Murphy new video targeting the key area of body confidence. I've watched a couple Youtube videos & read a few blog posts all about this sort of thing before, but never really thought into it too much until yesterday. I don't know what stood out so much to me, but the way she explains her thoughts about the issue is really eye opening, and it's reassuring to know you're not the only one and it does get better!
After watching it I had a lot of questions running through my head:
After watching it I had a lot of questions running through my head:
Why do I feel this way? Stupid reasons that make no sense.
Why should I feel this way? You shouldn't.
Who should I aim to please? Myself.
Do I want to be happy again? YES!
This also reminded me of videos i've viewed in the past by another brilliant Youtuber BeautyCrush , where she also spoke about body image, comfort zones, comparison to others etc. Re watching these too has really made me second guess myself. I'm not going to get too personal with why body confidence is an issue with me as it can be a very emotional & stressful thing to deal with. It used to really bug me when people would question me as to why I would get so down about it, but I felt like I didn't really have a good enough answer. If you don't understand why you're being so negative then others won't understand either, it can become extremely confusing but give it time. Don't give up on yourself, surround yourself with happy people & it will reflect onto you.
Now thinking back why did I allow it too get this bad, everyone's different, whether it be body shape, face shape, hair colour, how you dress, what you eat. Just do what works for you, if you want to lose weight or gain weight do it! If you want to dress a certain way what's stopping you?
Nothing will be easy but why would you want it to be that would be boring otherwise. No one's perfect, everyone has flaws but someone will love those flaws, and so should you that's what makes you, you. Just think about you, no one else's opinion matters, nor should your's for other people feeling the same way.
I could go on for day's talking about this as it's such a wide topic but you get the idea, and hopefully it's opened your eyes up too.
How great are these quotes, I want them framed all around my house! haha.
(All found from pintrest)
Keep thinking positive.

30 inspirational body confidence quotes by Marie Claire. <- An extra boost of confidence for you.

A couple weeks back I stumbled across a Buzzfeed post suggesting ' 21 delicious thing to eat in Canterbury', and seeing as i'm a short drive away from there I was very intrigued to check these places out, and as I mentioned before I love trying new places.
With my boyfriend being a big foodie he quickly hopped on the band wagon too and we made a decision to try a place every month, plus it's an excuse to escape sitting in his room watching endless amounts of films on Netflix. Our first stop was at a bar/restaurant called 'Alberrys' where a company named 'The Burger Bros' situated themselves, along with other places around Kent.
Now both my boyfriend (George) & I are massive lovers of burgers, so we had very high standards for this place. When we received the menu I didn't know where to begin, I think I had forgotten what a proper burger was being so used to nipping down to Maccy D. I opted to play it safe this time however and kept it simple, as I didn't want to get too full and end up wasting what could potentially be an amazing burger. Plus I wanted a starter & many sides, George on the other hand went all out & went for the monster with everything crammed in... he doesn't hold back.
And here was the finished product. The above was George's, now it doesn't look the most appetizing thing but in George's words 'Corrr', so we'll take that as it was pretty dam good. Mine was pretty good too just regretted keeping it simple because honestly it just tasted like a posh cheeseburger. Guess it gives me an excuse to return though really doesn't it!
I just wish I took a picture of the nachos we had for starters, because oh wow! They were beyond amazing, I feel like I want to recommend this place to everyone just for the nachos but that's not meant to be the selling point...
Say cheese George.
I seem to have started my blog off by just recommending things to do haha, but why not? if you find a place/thing you love share it with everyone else to enjoy to! I'd appreciate it if someone did the same to me.
If you live in the Kent area why not check the place out, The Burger Bros.
OR follow me and George on our food mission around Canterbury if you want.
